About Department

The Department of Commerce at B.J.B. Autonomous College, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, housed in the Administrative Block, has been nurturing and nourishing minds, serving the best since its inception in the 1976–77 academic year. The nuanced teaching methods and processes adopted by the eminent faculty members have proved to be successful in extracting the best out of students each year. The number of sanctioned posts for the department is 06, having 5 classrooms and a UG and PG library catering to the total sanctioned student strength of 832.

 Over the decades, the Department of Commerce has played an indispensable role in designing the career growth of its students, acquainting them with the latest changes in the current economic scenario.

Bachelor in Commerce & Master in Commerce

The teaching-learning process has been fostering an interactive, inclusive, and student-centred environment. Effective teaching has engaged students through clear explanations, real-world examples, and active participation, making learning relevant and enjoyable. Teachers have been playing a guiding role, encouraging curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving. By incorporating various teaching methods, such as discussions, hands-on activities, and collaborative projects, students develop a deeper understanding of concepts.
